1) We are right next to some of the Cactus League training facilities
2) The restaurants are phenominal
3) The walking paths are even better
4) And on and on!
There is a long set of trails winding through Scottsdale's flood control area. Lots of wildlife, golf courses, play grounds, small lakes, etc., etc. They are in a long line, winding down to something Arizona calls a "river". We are starting to leap frog our jouneys, driving to the last turn-around point to see what the next few miles have to offer. Today was a 4.6 mile walk. Talking with some workers along the route, it looks like tomorrow will offer an opportunity to see owls, road runners, and even coyotes. After lunch today, we visited the "The Celebration of Fine Art". Vera was like a kid in a candy store. Amazing works of art from all over the country. I even saw an artist from Nebraska with a modern interpretation of a photograph a relative of mine, Wright Morris, did in the 40s. Tomorrow, it is a visit to Taliesin West, Frank Loyd Wright's artist conclave in Arizona. We don't seem to have trouble finding things to do.
